Our program

After School Oasis

An after-school program for elementary students, built around creative projects, play, and relationships, hosted during the hours families need it most.

How an afternoon runs

At Our Lady of the Elms, the program runs Monday through Thursday, 3:00 to 4:30 PM with pickup by 4:45, for students in Kindergarten through 5th Grade. At other schools, it can run four afternoons a week, one day a week, or monthly, and a session can be a full afternoon or a single hour. Every session follows the same rhythm: a group ice breaker, snack, dedicated homework and quiet time, then activities.

Homework first

Schoolwork gets finished before play begins, with adults at the table to help.

Play with a purpose

Board games, arts and crafts, basketball, and seasonal activities that build self-esteem, expression, and new skills.

Fed and safe

Each student receives two nut-free snack items per session, and pickup runs until 4:45 PM.

The economics

Affordable for every family, by design

The full program costs families $10 a day, about half the cost of typical aftercare. Small group enrichment programs at partner schools and organizations are always free. Donations cover enrichment, snacks, and support for families who need help. Sponsoring one child costs $140 a month.
